  • Battle.net now uses a new banner ad system.
  • Fixed an exploit where an altered custom map would be seen identical to the original custom map.
  • Fixed an issue where some patches could not apply on Intel Macs.

  • PC World Editor
    • Increased max map file size from 4 MB to 8 MB.
    • Added the ability to store hashtable handles in a hashtable.
    • Added GetSpellTargetX and GetSpellTargetY natives.
    • Added a new base handle type "Agent" of which many types now extend from.
    • Added a SaveAgentHandle native which can be used for saving most handle types.
    • Added a JASS optimization dealing with global variable change events.
  • Fixes
    • Fixed a few false positives caused by the "return bug" fix.
    • Fixed a crash related to hashtable reference counting.
    • "Shadowing" global variables with local variables no longer is possible.
    • Fixed a type conversion dealing with operators (i.e. adding a handle with an integer).

13th October 2009 - Saving Private Ryan's Robert Rodat attached to write Warcraft flick

Director man Sam Raimi has revealed the 'Saving Private Ryan' and 'The Patriot' screenwriter, Robert Rodat, is going to be crafting "an original story" for Warcraft. Raimi says they'll be "really faithful" to the game lore, he wants it "accurate and true" to Azeroth's inhabitants. So gold farmers confirmed? It will feel like a "'World of Warcraft' adventure." 12th October 2009 - China Tightens Regulation On Foreign Online Game Operation

Due to the Chinese regulatory authorities, it may be harder for foreign companies such as Blizzard to operate and even distribute game updates in China. NetEase which currently operates the Chinese version of World of Warcraft and saw its stock fall 5 percent after the announcement. This new came only weeks after World of Warcraft finally restarted for Chinese players, also due to Chinese government regulation problems. Read more at Gamasutra.

12th October 2009 - WoW Battle.net Conversion Coming!

In preparation for the launch of new Battle.net features, on November 11, 2009, all current World of Warcraft players will be required to merge their World of Warcraft accounts with a Battle.net account in order to log in to the game. Find out more here.

The Public Test Realm (PTR) is up and running with upcoming Patch 3.3.0 changes. Included is the Forge of Souls, one of the new 5-man dungeons at the Icecrown Citadel is available for testing. See the Patch 3.3.0 notes for details.

C'Thun (pronounced "Kah-Thoon" or "Kathune") is the final boss in the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj. Until the release of Naxxramas and later The Burning Crusade, C'Thun was considered the most difficult raid boss in the game, and still considered to be harder than several of the bosses in Naxxramas. As a matter of fact, C'Thun drops loot of equal or higher item level than numerous Naxxramas bosses.In its first inception, C'Thun was considered to be unbeatable with the current level of gear. However, following a number of hot fixes, phase two was made considerably more controllable, and the first kills were registered in a matter of hours following one such hot fix. The first kill was claimed by Nihilum.
